Tạ Tỵ : ウィキペディア英語版
Tạ Tỵ
Tạ Tỵ (1922, Hanoi – 24 August 2004, Ho Chi Minh City) was a Vietnamese painter and poet. After the Vietnam War ended in 1975, he was sent to a reeducation camp till 1981. Afterwards he and his wife left Vietnam as boat people via Malaysia and resettled in California in 1983. He returned to Vietnam shortly before his death in 2004.〔(Witnesscollection Tạ Tỵ ) "Tạ Tỵ left the army of the South Vietnamese regime in 1972 but after the war ended in 1975, as a former military officer, he was imprisoned in a reeducation camp in the north of Vietnam for six years. On his release in 1981, he and his wife escaped Vietnam by sea to Malaysia and resettled in California in 1983. Tạ Tỵ returned to Vietnam only shortly before he died in 2004."〕 His paintings were originally influenced by cubism turning to abstract art around 1961.〔(Lachonggallery TA TY (1922-2004) )〕
